Postal surveys

Postal questionnaires are one of the least intrusive methods of data collection; they can be completed and returned at the participants' leisure and from the comfort of their homes. Postal questionnaires can also be inexpensive, relative to other survey methodologies.

Response rates for postal surveys are often low, with a drawn-out response period. Due to the self-complete nature of a postal questionnaire, individuals with a vested interest in the project are most likely to respond to a postal survey.
